There is some hope. T-Mobile is adding the 1900 frequency. which will allow the 620 to get 3G. I attached the lastest map I have of where they have added 1900. You can check with your local T-Mobile store to find out when it's coming to your area.

I personally do not recommend it. My brother is using an iPhone in the bay area, its terrible.
Besides 3G/4G is meant to run on two bands simultaneously for call and data.

We've had a couple of people post that it works great in their area and we've had a couple of people post that it's terrible in their area. In fact, one was a moderator here and he went back to AT&T like a day or two later.

T-Mobile 1900MHz works just fine as long as your area has been refarmed. I've been using a 920 on T-Mobile and getting 6-10Mbit speeds, for the past couple of months.
