If you are 100% satisfied with 620, 735 is by far the best upgrade. It's as colorful and playful as the 620 and still packs almost every cool feature you'd want. Only Glance missing is unfortunate.

830 is business-y and has little going for it over a 735. The 930 is high-end, sure, that's good but... the 620 was a brilliant affordable best-of-all-worlds kind of device. Besides the horrible battery that is. The 735 is like that but then a bit more modern. Going high-end, sure the 930 is great. But it's also bigger and heavier and a lot more expensive.

If you have enjoyed using your 620 the past couple of years, (I have certainly enjoyed mime) I think that the 830 would be a great upgrade. I am considering it as well. Spec wise, it is "leaps and bounds" above the 620, and the 620 performs decently on 8.1. Plus the 830 should prove to be decently "future proof" when it comes to OS updates.

Anything with a better camera, better battery and more ram is an upgrade. So yeah, the 735 will do nicely.

I am waiting to see what comes with W10 preloaded next year and then probably get a 630/730 successor.
On the other hand I will be getting the Zenfone 2 as soon as its launched but that's more of a replacement for my Nexus 7.

I would go for an upgrade in the 6xx or 7xx line. It just has to be an upgrade.

I'll go for 640 (not XL), but if it's suck (like 535) I'll choose 730.
620 was great for its price, but RAM is now major issue for me.

I'm thinking of going with the 640 but after using 620 for so long I'm accustomed to compact and small sized screens.640 has a 5"inch screen. That's the only thing holding me back.

It's really difficult to replace the 620. It's been two years and I still can't see a worthy device for its price.

Same here :) 640 is really close, just missing a camera button :D Spec-wise the 830 could be a contender, it just has a higher class camera. When I bought my 620, it was a bit more what the 735 costs, so looking from that point of view, the 830 doesn't even seem so unreasonable

Lumia 640 xl: little bit big in size.
Lumia 730: Seems perfect but unfortunately missing the glance screen.
Lumia 830: Bit overpriced but kinda perfect for 620 users.

Though thinking about android as an option as some apps+games are still missing. But it will be very hard to leave this platform.

Glance screen is mandatory for me, so 73x and 930 are not an option. MS should promote more this feature because other platforms don't have it. 640 and 830 are too big. There are many people who want a thin, full featured, one-hand operating phone that doesn't look and feel like a loaded gun in a pocket.

Exactly. But still I don't think there will be an option below 4.5" screen size.

Trust me it won't feel like a loaded gun in your pocket. Once you go big, you won't go back. I had a 620 and now I'm on a 735, I have access to (MOSTLY) all apps, the OS runs incredibly smooth and I can still use the phone with one hand. Don't be scared of having a bigger screened phone, the os can easily be used with one hand, haven't you noticed that most of the time the controls are at the button of the screen in windows phone? The only phones you should really be scared of using are the 6 inch ones. Those are the ones you should be worried about.

Since I run, cycle and exercise and am generally energetic,I need a light weight and compact phone. The OS and the one handed thing I can handle.

But still I'll try the 640. One inch larger screen won't hurt much.

Like many of you I contemplated the 830 or 930, but their relatively high prices and omission of some key specs (S400 for 830 and no glance for 930) kept me from buying either. The 640 seems tempting, but the omission of the camera button kinda does it for me and I want an OIS, ZEISS camera(I know I'll have to pay flagship price for these). So all in all, got my sights firmly set for the Lumia flagship for W10 (Talkman seems perfect), from what has been heard so far it seems great (hope it comes with USB-C, because that would be mind-blowingly awesome).

But if the flagship for some bizarre reason forgoes glance or is seriously sub-par in any aspect, then I'm afraid the new iPhone in September looks awfully likely to be my next device. However is priced too steeply, or does not include OIS (only considering the smaller model), then for a great value phone, might just go with a 640 to retain the greatness of Windows, especially with what's promised in W10.

I'll miss the camera button too on the 640 after I'll upgrade.
