I want to go back to WP 8.1

I have a lumia 635 (512mb) with WP 10, OS Build 14393...

I've searched these forums and it looks like I'm stuck with win10, right?? I've tried the windows phone recovery tool, downloaded today, and it says I have the correct OS version (win10).
I remember there used to be a nokia software recovery tool, but I don't trust some of the sites that seem to have it.
Is there a way back??

You've wrong. Windows Device Recovery Tools (WDRT) will rollback your Lumia 635 to Windows Phone 8.1.

If you want rollback your Lumia 635 to Windows Phone 8.1, yep, use WDRT.

Thanks, it worked! It was very laggy on wm10 and now much more responsive. I have an iPhone and unless I jailbreak it, it's a hassle using for some things as it is locked down with few options

Just be aware that if you want to try the W10M Creators Update on your 635 sometime in the future, it will be very difficulty or impossible.
