Does anyone's digital compass actually work?

Mine gives unstable and completely inaccurate information.

Mind you, I ran the 710 for one day running Mango, before upgrading to Tango. If I remember correctly, the one time I tried the compass under Mango, it's results were decently accurate.

I'm using these two compass apps:

http://www.windowsphone.com/en-US/apps/24dd4ff1-b902-45d5-96a1-40b749b28c42
and
http://www.windowsphone.com/en-US/apps/dd1cc3f8-0762-4b14-9c90-13072af30efd

And despite what settings I choose, the apps don't even agree with each other!!

Any and all feedback would be definitely appreciated, so I know if I have to go do a warranty claim or not.

I just installed both of the Compass apps you listed, both of them are the same. Did you calibrate it?

I compared it with a real compass that I have, it is slightly off. But at least both of the programs points to the same direction for North 0"

Hi darthhen,

Yes, I did calibrate them, as well. The readings are totally off, however. E.g. instead of reading 58 deg NE, they are anywhere from 90-180 degrees off.

Are you using Mango or Tango?
