Lumia 720 or Lumia 925

Hi everyone, new guy here and i need some help.
Currently using an iphone 4 but i want to switch to either a Lumia 720 or Lumia 925 still can't decide.
Ok so my questions

1. Will wp8.1 work on devices with 512mb?
2. Some reviewers, including wpcentral video, say the L620 display is better than the L720. Is this true? L720 has IPS LCD vs TFT LCD for the L620. I thought IPS was superior to TFT?
3. How does the display on the L720 compared to the iphone4? Will i be dissappointed with the 720's display? I have seen the 620's display. Is the 620 display similar to 720's? I don't play games i mostly browse on the internet, emails and maybe some youtube videos.
4. Which screen is better in the sunlight, L720 or L925? Btw i compared my iphone4 and the L620 in direct sunlight and the L620 just blew away the iphone4!
5. How much better is the 925's display vs the 720's? Is it worth the extra $$ for the 925?

I haven't got any Lumia phone ( I have Samsung Ativ S ) but if you are planning for the future and want a better phone, choose L925. The battery life depends on your usage of the phone. And wifi signal strength being weak? I can't answer that because I don't have Lumia, but I think there will not be problems with that. All WP8 phone will get 8.1 , but I think how better the specs how better it works. I hope this is usefull for your choice. Btw sorry for my english, I'm from the Netherlands (14 years old).

Im using a 720, battery life is great... There are times that it last for almost three days...

Darth, how do you like the 720's display? How does it compare with other lumias? I'm in canada and we don't have either the 720 or 925 for sale here so there's no way for me to know how the display is.

I haven't seen a 925 so I can't say wich one is better... For me 720's display is ok. Im not a gamer so the 512 mem of the 720 is fine with me. I always use my 720 for watching videos, browsing the web and social media. Before i buy my 720 i watched a lot of comparison videos in youtube maybe you can try to watch some of it....

925 has an AMOLED display while 720 has an IPS display. So technically there are difference. If you're aiming for great colors and true blacks display then AMOLED would be a great choice while IPS produces true colors and consume a bit power because of the backlight of lcd displays.

I have an ATIV S and I have the AMOLED HD display, my friend has an L625 and IPS display. All I can say is that AMOLED is colorfull and nice while IPS is true colors like Darth mentioned. In my opinion AMOLED is much better.

Correct, the white of AMOLED is more bright while IPS looks more dark.

- I actually don't know but they're probably almost identical.

- This is where the 720 gets bumped. The screen of the iPhone 4 is better. (217 ppi (720), 326 ppi (iPhone 4). The iPhone 4 is the first iPhone with the Retina Display but I think the flat interface of Windows Phone works really well with the 720. It looks REALLY nice in person.

- Both are the same. Both phones have the 'sunlight readability' feature

- Much better. 925's is AMOLED which I prefer and has an HD Display.


I'd get the 920 if I were you though, Same features as the 925 only thicker and heavier + 32 gigs of internal storage! and price is cheaper than the 925.

I'd get the 920 if I were you though, Same features as the 925 only thicker and heavier + 32 gigs of internal storage! and price is cheaper than the 925.

but 925 is updated phone to 920.. I will prefer 925 because 925 is latest phone from 92x series.. Nokia developers prefer new series (x25) for development. I heard some screen flickring issue , heating issues on 920 on flipkart.com. But after all choice is yours...��

Yes. All WP8 phones will be upgrade-able to WP 8.1. Microsoft had announced it earlier.

Lumia 620 and Lumia 720 sport the same screen resolution. However, the 720 having a larger means that its pixel density is lower.

No you won't be. The Lumia 720 is a charm to hold and is a good phone to watch YouTube videos. However, you will need to do with third-party apps as the official YouTube app is no good.

Both Lumia 720 and 925 fare well in direct sunlight. Screen are easily readable.

Lumia 720 has an IPS LCD screen whereas the Lumia 925 has an AMOLED screen. The 925's screen is better because it uses less power. So when using features like Glance, the 925 fares well. However, the difference in battery drain isn't much.

Final Verdict: The only complain I have against the 720 is the scanty RAM. I play a lot of games and hence lose out on quite a few number of games. If you can make do with that, you can pick the Lumia 720 without a second thought. I've seen it being sold ~14k in some places. However, the Lumia 925 is currently the best Lumia available out there(In terms of perfomance/value). You'll definitely benefit from the extra RAM, better camera and higher resolution screen. As for me, I'll wait for the successor of the Lumia 720.

I have a Lumia 720 and I think L-720 is better than L-925.
The reasons are : 1. Slim design
2. Fantastic battery life
3. Good camera(enough for me when I use mobile to capture photos )
4. Good price

The 925 is only good for its camera but this phone has not so beautiful design.
