That would suit me perfectly. I'm going to be upgrading my Lumia 800 to an 820, but the bigger battery of the 720 would be awesome. I like the design too.

Bigger RAM, and higher res (but same size) screen. The 720 has a premium feel to it, but it's stuck with 800x480. With the 625 getting a higher res screen, the 720 needs one too.

I hate that there are so many models, too many numbers.

Messy looking

Should be one really good entry level device with a name not a number. Updated once a year with name followed by a number example Nokia lumia simple**** 1

1 medium and 1 high end device then the likes of the special products like 1020

I know they want to flood the market but to an outsider its going to get confusing

That's your opinion. To others, variety means a lot.
Just ask the person who wants to buy an iPhone, but doesn't have enough money to buy it.
There are different kinds of people with different needs. The best chance to expand WP market share right now is to make a phone for as many as possible.

625 has same res as 720. It's just bigger and because of low Res, text all look fudgy.

I will honestly upgrade to 725 if it were released. Same screen with 1gb ram and better processor please. 820 is already phased out.

If Lumia 725 = Lumia 720 with a new 1.5 ghz cpu, 1g ram, 16gb storage (maybe a 2300 mah battery) and no nfc things, it would be a killer mid range phone, a true one mid range smartphone for all.

But well, it's too good to be true. MS would never do that move.

how about lumia 710? it looks cute. i think i will buy it for my daughter, cuz somehow this seems to be a girly phone. and yea, lumia 925 is awesome but the 1020 is a cake! shame that the design is nearly exact the same though Nokia Lumia 925 vs Nokia Lumia 1020 - Comperio.co

the 710 is wp7.8 and really bad compared to a wp8 phone. Also wp8 is far behind Android and IOS, WP 7.x is even worse.

actually, I beg to differ.

the 710 is still a solid phone, HOWEVER, you're not going to see any updates or the latest apps, which may not be worth it considering there are other well priced 8 offerings. But if its cheap enough, I'd try it, it can still browse the web and make phone calls. But I wouldn't recommend it.

Whether Windows Phone 8 is behind or not can be debated to kingdom come, i think its on par, billy may thing its years ahead, it all depends on what you use as a metric.

Oh no not me. All Lumia's are great but if you're gonna get a phone, get the top highest end.... Right now is the 1520, even the new 1320 if you must but the 1520 is the way to go. I have had a lot of wp's and currently the 1020. I'll get the 1520 or possibly wait for the phones in april.

thats correct. read all those articles about 1520 v/s. all others?
1520 perform way high, and perfect for a flagship.

anyway, about 725, i really wish about higher resolution. Low RAM is really not so problematic as it do saves on battery. but higher RAM shall serves purpose only if higher resolution is there. otherwise, it is itself a solid phone, working well on all grounds... good camera, excellent battery, Nice OS, Gorilla Glass, All needed apps available now.
what do we need now is either higher resolution or AMOLED screen, which shall make this perfect, and shall put down Nokia's sells for other handsets like 820 and 920/925 down.
