Nokia camera flashing even when flash is turned off

Hi Friends,

I am using Lumia 720 and the problem with Nokia Camera App is it flashes even when the flash is turned off. It doesn't happen all the time but when u click pictures in low light it flashes without fail. Is there any way to shut it down completely????

Please help if you have any solution and also post if you are having the same problem.

Have you turned off the assist beam?

That's focus assist light. You can disable it by going into Nokia camera / tap on the 3dots /settings/focus assist light. This helps camera to focus in dark.

Exactly its auto focus assist light . It helps in low light photography .it just turns on focus the image for the sake of clarity

Came here with exactly that in mind, but was beaten to it not by one, but three people!

Yup what they said.

It uses the flash to help the camera to focus, especially in low light before taking the photo so it's sharper in the end. I do keep it off primarily though.
