So, has anyone noticed that the Lumia 730/735 is SLOWER than the 830?

With all the videos of the Windows 10 preview, I started to noticed that the W10 homescreen in the 830 was pretty much smooth. On my 730 it's hilariously slow.

I then started watching videos of games performance on the 830 and they all look faster and smoother than the 730.

For example, Sonic Dash is perfectly fluid on the 830, but on the 730 it lags and has a slower framerate. It makes no sense, since they are on the same chipset/gpu.

I'm running:

OS: 8.10.14167.221
Firmware: 02040.00005.14391.36002

Does anyone have a 735/730 and an 830 to compare directly? How can I reach the guys from Windows Central so they can compare?

Temple Run 2 lags on my Lumia 730, visuals set to high( especially in the water pater). Not sure if the game isn't optimized or the problem is something else.

I've seen various benchmarks and it seems that although both devices have the same cpu/gpu & ram, the Lumia 830 seems to have better performance. I honestly don't know why though :/

I don't know, but could the 730 APU be clocked at a lower speed than the 830?

If not, perhaps the 730 has worse cooling or poorer power circuitry which causes down-clocking under stress?

No, it would not. If there is a performance gain on the Lumia 830, maybe it will have something to do with the RAM - the 830 has faster memory perhaps?

Highly doubtful. Even then, RAM speed wouldn't affect GPU/CPU performance significantly, not with this low clock chipset.

I'm thinking lower clock might be the case, the reason why eludes me. Could never find any indication that the 730 was slower than the 830, not through official specs.

But having considerably lower performance than the 830, with the same chipset, needs some clarification from Microsoft. Otherwise we have to start looking at WP performance in a whole other perspective.

It can only be RAM speed or CPU/GPU speed. Flash memory may also be a factor.

We know that just because something is called a SD400 doesn't mean there are not variants. S4 was the same.

I cannot detect my 735 being slower than my 830 at all. However, I don't have W10 installed on either one.

Is there a performance difference in games on 8.1? Do you have the latest firmware/denim update? The one that enables you to have a data toggle on the notifications bar?

Don't think I can help ya there. I don't have any games installed on either phone. I don't have the *full* Denim installed (not available yet, Latin American variant). Just the the stock Denim that came with the phones. :-/
