    Dear Lumia 735 users,

In your opinion, is the 735 still worth buying? I could buy a new one for 129 and I thought it's a steal. I'm currently using a Lumia 550 but the performance leaves a lot to be desired. It lags and is slow on every single build.

Btw, I love oled screens and can't justify paying 100 more for a Lumia 650. The 640 costs 169 over here (Belgium).

Nah, it'd be more-or-less a sidewards move from a 550. Do something else with that €129!

I don't see why not. I just got one last week basically free 735 from Verizon. Updated it from 8.l1 to latest Win10 mobile production, hard reset it, and it has been great for me since. Setup my MS account, installed basic apps and it is working smooth and fast. Despite 2014 hardware, I believe Win mobile is just better tuned. I see no lag or anything. Using it daily. Battery life long too.

Yup it's solid for the price but for medium usage battery life is not so great... Also one noticable difference is 550 has 4G LTE radio. I agree with Sentient-- its not a wise move between a similarly specced 550 to a 730. I came from a 620 to 730 which brought me a better screen, 1GB of RAM and a faster processor.

Get this for 12 pounds more- https://www.amazon.co.uk/Motorola-Mo...pUvbUpU3493791 . it will beat 730 camera and trust me, will be way faster than what you get on 550/650/730/830.

Well... i bought one 735 recently and i couldn't be happier. It's gorgeous, super-confortable and it runs great. Sure its a bit outdated, but it works. If you need a mobile for shooting fantastic photos and gaming alot, you'll need to spend a few more bucks.

I would recommend getting the 73X or the 830. They're not full fledged upgrades but certainly powerful than the 550 which you'll notice in day to day use. Plus the 73X/830 come with their own goodies.

This, and the cameras are surely better than the 550.

Given the direction of WP/WM, it's getting harder and harder to recommend ANY model to anyone but the most die-hard fanboy. But the 735 emails a decent mobile at a great price. There are a few issues, however, that should be mentioned.

-- First, the 735 is a Verizon phone and the W10M update from the current 8.1 is MIA. I've heard from a knowledgeable insider at Verizon that the 735 is NOT getting W10M. I do so hope he's wrong, but he has a pretty good track record with this kind of info.
-- Second, the power button on the side is too obtrusive. Especially with the double-tap to wake, there is no reason for anything but a tiny recessed button on the top somewhere, out of the way. As it is now, I find I'm always hitting the power button by mistake even when I'm just holding the phone and shifting it in my hand.
-- Bank apps are MIA. I rely on my Chase and Wells Fargo apps all the time. Not having them on WM is a killer. I also miss my Starbucks app.

+ On the plus side, it has a gorgeous screen and the overall size of the device is small. For a second/backup phone its wonderful. I couldn't use it as my daily driver, but it's still a nice size as an extra phone.
+ Bluetooth integration with cars is the best. Cortana is natural and intuitive. Siri requires that I read punctuation into messages when I'm replying to a message verbally. And I have to ask Siri to read my messages. Cortana takes the initiative and asks. I'd love to turn that feature on for Siri on my iPhone but alas, it's not happening.
