Buying a Lumia from overseas?

I would recommend anyone that wants to order this phone for use in North America to confirm the product code with the seller. Many retailers advertise this phone with specs from Nokia's website, which are actually incorrect.

? European Variant - WCDMA HSPA 900/1900/2100 MHz (RM-801)
? US Variant - WCDMA HSPA 850/1900/2100 MHz (RM-819)

To be able to get the right version, we suggest that you inquire about the RM-Type of the phone you may refer to the information above.

Please be advised that what you have mentioned regarding the website's misinformation is confirmed and that we have already noted it and informed our relevant department.

I bought my phone from Clove in the UK and it does only have 900/1900/2100. My phone works well enough for my use on 1900, but some people may be very disappointed by this...

Also, I didn't think the US version was released yet... I honestly don't think Nokia customer care have a slightest clue about what their doing :shocked:

I bought one from a seller on ebay that claimed it to have 850/1900 bands but when I got it this morning it's the RM-801 model... even says 900/1900/2100 on the box. Luckily for me AT&T uses 1900 here in SC where I will be using it 98% of the time. I also thinking that the US version isn't shipping yet.

Nokia was putting out pentaband phones. I think a lot of this stems from U.S. Carriers telling Nokia they would have to stop selling unbranded/unlocked phones if they wanted to come back in to the U.S. market.

Ya, the North American version is supposedly not released yet, yet stores claim to have them. Buyer beware...
