Availability in North America - Nokia

you guys can see it clearly, that's only lumia 810 is not available, I have no idea if it's just a mistake of typing or it really is.

did Microsoft say that every device will be update to 8.1? Then why?

I noticed that as well a couple days ago. Since the 810 is only for T-Mobile, correct me if I am wrong, it comes down to if T-Mobile wants to update it. If T-Mobile tells Nokia they won't, there isn't any reason to get it working on the phone.

Quite annoying the 810 isn't getting Black, as EVERY WP8 user was promised AT LEAST 18 months of updates from when the device launches.

Are you gimps 100% sure that the 810 isn't simply an 820 renamed for t-mobile exclusivity?

    I didn't know I was a:
trimming: a silk or cotton trimming that has a wire or cord running through it
Anyways, try doing some research on your own prior to asking. But I will give you a pass once: Yes, I am sure it isn't just a name change.

juz little things difference about battery and front facing camera resolution. So is there any ways to use 820's rom for 810 as well? I think It's possible

Yes it's true as of right now the 810 will not be getting the Black update. Why? I don't know. There is no reason why AT&T's 820 and Verizon's 822 are getting it. All 3 are basically the same phone with the exception of the front camera resolution and LTE. It's a much better phone than the 521, and the 521 is getting Black. The 810 is a capable device but it looks like I will have to get a 920 or 1020 that is Penta Band so that it will work 100% on T-Mobile

I think there might be a bit too much frenzy about this (as much as I'd like to see Black on my son's 810). I think it is still not perfectly clear if 810 will eventually get Black. Remember, MS stated that WP8 devices would be getting 8.1 upgrade. It is possible (no clue if feasible) that 810 is simply not getting Black at this point, but might at a later point.

Obviously, all speculation but the truth is - we just do not know for sure what is in store.

100% sure. It's closer to the 822 spec wise. Larger battery, better front facing camera, and a few other things. Time to go bug em via FB again. :/

Let's keep in mind. We didn't get an earlier Nokia update, but it did come later with Amber. I'm assuming maybe this is the case and we can rest easy until 8.1/Blue are released.

EDIT: Actually we can assume the device is now pretty much dead. We might have better luck getting Android to run on this hardware.

Not sure how reliable these guys are, but this really does seem that we might as well light all our matchsticks and get what little warmth we can out of this.

Tmobile did not update L710 to 7.8. Never explained the reason. Anyway it seem they are doing the same now with 810. I'm glad I don't have it

You do realize that Black firmware in fact brings only small improvements? This has nothing to do with 8.1 upgradeability (major upgrade).

My sister has an 810 and I'm kinda annoyed that it isn't getting black because she would really get some use out of it enabling Bluetooth 4.0 and the updates to Glance Screen. I'm hoping at the very least T-Mobile is just waiting for 8.1 this April(?), though I'm thinking she may just need to get a new phone.

Post back after it doesn't get 8.1. T-Mobile has given up on this phone, just like they did with the previous models that I've listed. If you look at my list, it's obvious that the only way to get updates with T-mobile is to buy the newest model, period.

You are right, but T-Mobile acted like that during the time that they has contracts. Now with no contracts, they have to be careful on how to handle upgrades and EOL's on phones. Not everyone wants/or can afford to do upgrades from JUMP.

Or get international versions (as in the 925) where if you don't get updates, you can just flash another model and get it that way... Wonder if someone will make a way to get it onto the 810 like SevenEighter got 7.8 onto the 710? (crosses fingers for all the 810 users)
