Now my dilemma has deepened - I took days to decide on the 925 and ordered (and received it yesterday from HSN). I am pondering over to keep the 925 or return it! My 810 now has Windows 8.1 plus I swapped the 32gb microSD with a 64gb MicroSD. Also as the new windows lets apps to be stored on the microsd card - it is almost equa to 72gb phone vs the 16gb of the 925.

I am inclined to return the 925, but just wondering if someone had opinions on it. The one thing I surely don't like on the 810 is it's Camera, but other than are there are reasons why 925 would be a better choice?

I use a 925 and I love it, but you should return it :p It comes down to a simple choice :D If you don't want it by now you probably don't want it all :)

Thanks. I ordered it because I got an impression that I cannot have 8.1 on the 810.

Nah as was stated during build all phones with the dev prev will be able to run 8.1 :D I'm just happy MS didn't say "Ok now you all need to buy a new phone" :/

It really depends on what your priorities are. If you are the type who can't live without having tons of apps and especially games and/or music on your phone, then you should probably stick with the 810. If you can live without installing music on your phone and just rely on music streaming apps (Nokia MixRadio is AWESOME, by the way...) and play only a few games, then the 925 should suit you very well. I have the 810 (updated to 8.1 on Friday and have a 32GB SD card), a 920 and a 925 and the 925 is my daily driver.

I would keep the 925 because it looks better. Built out of higher quality materials. Higher resolution screen. Way better camera. Optical image stabilization. It's just an overall better phone.

If apps and space is your main concern, then id go with 810. Who am i kidding, I'd still keep the 925. It's freaking gorgeous.

At this point in time I'd personally hold on to the 810. I wouldn't be surprised if a new mid-range device is on the horizon. If the 810 has found a new lease on life, by all means stick to it. Then again... the 925 is a pretty nifty device.

... only if it came with more storage...sigh

yes if the 925 came with ext. storage there wasn't any doubt left. Maybe I will keep both the 810 isn't going anywhere - can give it to Mom or wife. I haven opened but not started the 925 ... maybe I should and that will also help me decide on it.

Thanks to all of you.

@ Pankaj981 = you seem to be a WP fan! In 2012 you owned 7 phones! I actually owned a windows phone from around 2005/6 when it was windows CE!

Well I'm a technology fan, i like to try and use new devices, I've had all sorts of gadgets i can have my hands on, but yes most of my cell phones have been Windows phones since i like to try them all. Noe even though I've a pentaband 920 and an awesome updated 810, I'm currently eyeing the Ativ S even though it's a ex flagship phone now. My next wave of phones after that would all be latest Gen Windows phones, especially the 930 if Nokia somehow manages to enable glance on it.
Earlier I've tried androids and my first new world smartphone was an iPhone (though my first smartphone was an HTC touch p3452 in 2006 running wm6.6 custom rom) and i didn't like any of them. Since moving to Windows phone I've become sort of a fan boy :)

I had an HTC TyTn II from 2008 till 2012 Feb and then got a Samsung and then Nexus 4. I switched to WP in October 2013 to a Lumia 521 and then to a Lumia 810 which is my daily driver. I have cycled through HTC 8X, Lumia 920 and Lumia 925 as well. I might get a Lumia 920 to use as a daily driver provided it gets LTE on T-Mobile.

You should try to get a Rogers 920. I have one and it works awesomely on T-Mobile. Gets full LTE and everything! Where I live (NYC area), the AT&T version would be much the same. Of course, it depends on where you live, but you definitely can't go wrong with the Rogers version.

I know about it. But they are hard to come by. I had one, used for a week with LTE on it and and that time decided to sell it. Anyway, the search continues...

I think it comes down to how much you want/need the better camera. I have the 810, but honestly, I would probably go with the 925. I just don't download a ton of apps, and stream most of my music. And, when 8.1 does come to the 925, you'll get updated firmware through TMo.

Lumia 810 is a nice little device minus the fact that tmobile said "EOL" which just means can't get Nokia Black Update or Cyan unless Nokia erm Microsoft changes something.

Now that the merger will be complete this Friday, we might be able to get the Nokia Firmware goodies directly from MSFT. I am already running WP8.1 on my EOL'd 810 and loving it:)
