I can't watch video on background!

I want to watch video or listen music on youtube. But when i press back button or when messages arrive me, I have to go to messages.. but video stops.. Can't it go on when I am messaging or doing something else?

Metrotube will play under the lockscreen, but that's it. It's a limitation of the OS, like iOS. Android is the only one that can do it right now.

Android can do it because google allows it since they own YouTube. Other OS's have limitations and pretty sure google doesn't want non-android users to get the same experience as well.

Wrong. Android can do it because it supports full multitasking, whereas iOS and WP used paused states for multitasking, which makes video play in the background impossible. It has nothing to do with who own whom.

apps automatically goes dormant when not in focused. It allows resuming though but not always. Same as other's answers , OS Limits.
