Hey Guys,

I'm using 820 for more than 2 weeks now and I'm loving it. Just when I thought I've made a good buy, things are hotting up literally. I've heard playing games for hours can cause overheating of the device. That's understandable But my device gets uncomfortably heated up in less than 5 mins. Seems mine is a good conductor of heat. Jokes apart this is seriously irritating. The heat is not to an extent to which it can cause blisters, but it's highly uncomfortably holding the device. Think this is not limited to 820 only. How are your devices holding up?

Heating up in 5 mins is unacceptable. I thought games like real football, Asphalt 7, which are processor intense, can cause heating up so I switched to simple games like wordament, fruit slash and still the problem persists.
My current os version is : 8.0.10211.204
and I've disabled all the background running apps.

Is this hardware or software related problem?
Kindly share your thoughts and possible solutions.
Cheers :)

Every device has this problem. Not just Lumia.

Try using Apple devices or Android devices , you will face same issues

I'd try to get it replaced. There's definitely something wrong.

I can, and have on several occasions, played asphalt 7 for 3 hours straight on my Verizon 8x, and while the phone did get really warm, it never overheated. Even when I play for hours on the charger it doesn't overheat.

All Nokia smartphones overheat a lot while playing games. Even for 5 minutos.

3 hours playing on a smartphone???

I suggest you to buy a PS Vita or 3DS, m8.... That's what you need, not a smartphone.

If WP were more XBOX supported and more stable with no overheatin issues then there isn't any reason to throw away 200$ for a PSvita or even for a garbage like 3DS!
