Lumia 820 bricked after update

I have a Nokia Lumia 820. The screen got cracked and repaired, and the touch and all else was working fine. I tried to apply a recent update, suggested by Windows, which said it would take a few minutes. I started it and set the unit aside for a while. I came back later, and it was bricked. The only things that work are the buttons, and there is no touch whatsoever. I tried doing a hard reset but no matter how long I hold down the proper button(s), it never gives the appropriate symbols on the screen.

I just want to flash it back to factory settings and OS() so I can start over. I tried downloading and running the Nokia Care Suite as instructed on another site, but I get a permissions error.

Any ideas, anyone? thanks for your help!

It's worth a try.

And make sure you back up your phone just like you do when you get an update -if you haven't received a software update -ever,
then learn what you need to do to save apps and photos and how to get those backed up, you need an MS account you know.

Thanks! I will try this later. I love the 820, just want to get it working again. I'll let you know if successful.
