Go for the 920, you get so much for the extra: Pureview camera, NFC and wireless charging are just the beginning.

Both handsets are the same but 920 has a camera advantage(Pureview), 32GB Internal(No microsd expansion), PureMotion HD Screen, Built in Wireless charging.

The 820 has NFC and can have wireless charging (mine does). I have had a 64GB SD card in my 820 for 6 months and never had any trouble with it. I rotate movies and videos on it all the time and no problems. Are you sure its the phone, or is it the cards. I prefer the 820 over the 920, because it has a SD slot and a removeable battery. While the camera in the 920 is better with the new software the camera in the 820 is just fine. Also the 820 is a good bit smaller than the 920 and alot easier to carry in your pocket. NOthing wrong with the 920, I just prefer the 820. I have a 520 as my backup phone in care something happens to my 820.

820:
Usually lower cost
AMOLED 4.3" display (individual pixels lit up, making for black = no light, very nice)
a bit smaller
swappable back covers (option for wireless charging, not built in)
Removable battery, but its smaller
microSD card slot, (usually works great) BUT has only 8 GB built-in, making for little space for big apps/games

920:
gorilla glass brand display glass
IPS display, 4.5", higher resolution
built-in battery, its larger though
better camera
32 GB internal for everything, no expansion
built in wireless charging

L920 would be better because of the camera and 32Gb internal storage. Why is that so important? 'Couse internal storage is one the the biggest L820 problems... You have more than 2Gb left and you cannot download games like Asphalt 8 (1,8Gb), NOVA 3 (1Gb). It keeps saying that there is not much space left and you have to free up some of it... So I'd choose L920 because of that and the camera - which is better at low light conditions: )
