For working NCS in online mode:
Download this usergroupsconfiguration.cfg file and replace it in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Multi Software Updater 5.0
and
C:\Program Files (x86)\Nokia\Nokia Care Suite\Product Support Tool For Store 5.0
When prompted for a password, select "CareSuite External".
But this trick allows to download only the latest firmware.

3G works pretty fine. It is smooth. No issues at all.

Refer to the steps at Download Official Nokia Firmware Even Without Navifirm+ | BlinkThinks in Binaries to get the Nokia Care Suite working. Remember NOT to check the "Launch Nokia Care Suite" once the installation is done (also mentioned in the post above).

Im also having trouble with the flash kick -off, which version of NCS are you using

I guess this is becoming a trend, because Mexico's Telcel Lumia 620 also doesn't have the "add apn" or "edit apn" options anymore. Of course, you can use Nokia's Access Point, but it seems carriers are making it harder to use their branded devices in other networks.

Hi,

As I posted - "The trick with hooking NCS with the phone was to keep holding the Volume Down and Power button for a bit more long time. Not to release just once the vibration is felt. I felt a second vibration as I kept holding them and then the flashing started". Just hold on a bit more than the initial vibration... If you hold for more than the initial vibration, I think the phone resets itself and vibrates again (as is if starting again). That is then you can release the buttons.

not sure whats missing but I couldn't manage to kick-off the flashing
1.Press hold volume+power
2.Click retry on the recovery window
3.Could see the Verizon screen and after that stuck at Flash+cog wheel
I could see the WinUSB icon in the notification bar with Qualcomm MSM device

I have recently got the NOKIA LUMIA 822 verizon and having the same problem which you have mentioned. Can you please help with your number as I am also based out of Mumbai.

Can anyone help me as I am unable to send text messages and 3G is not workiing on Lumia 822 Verizon CDMA. Even the network is also fluctuating.

Hi bajrishi,

You will need to flash your phone to a version before the portico version. There are three steps to it:

1. Download the firmware as per your 822 color from here
2. Download the Nokia Care Suite & the user configuration file from here. Setup NCS.
3. Copy the files of step 1 into the Nokia Care Suite directory C:\ProgramData\Nokia\Packages\Products\rm-845\
4. Try to flash as per steps here

Note
Files that consists 8-digit hash in beginning of name must be renamed. For example:
34B0B8E8_RM845_059P714_1532.2108.1244.0003_252.vpl
must be renamed to:
RM845_059P714_1532.2108.1244.0003_252.vpl

File names like:
NWP8_simlock_3gstandard_bb5_crcA59A.bin
DC_template_development_v4.bin
040-110668_TYPE_LABEL_Vrzn_RM-845_v3_BLACK.xml
11385701.pcx
leave as is.

I downgraded and I got it workingggggggggggggg

- Outgoing SMS - check
- 3G services - check
- APN configuration - check

All is perfect in the world now

Thanks a lot guys ! I have now kept the Updates set to off. I will update only if Nokia has fixed all the issues. Or else I am happy with this

Me too. It is difficult to understand the case of the mobile phone?

I have the network settings, tried setting to Vodafone India, added internet/mms apn etc.
All settings per different posts in this thread. Still no joy.
Network heavily fluctuates for voice/data and can't send SMS.
Can anyone help?

Can you verify that your firmware version number is 1532.2108.1244.0003 ? This is the one which works.
