Start screen background image size

We "all" know the pixel size of the 830's screen, thus it's lock screen background image size.

But ? how much taller is the scrolling background image of the start screen ...
Does anyone have a link to a reliable source of such "technical" information of the OS/Phone?

Well, the resolution is 1280x720 (720p). So I'd bet on anything at least 1280 pixels.

Exactly 1280 will do for full quality. Any size is allowed, you'll just have to crop them. So never use sideways images.

If I'm nitpicking — no, then 1280 will not do for full quality as the selection of the start screen image clearly shows a 1:1 image is somewhat significantly cropped on the sides to make it “longer” and scrollable.

I want to know this answer too. I need it to design proper wallpapers. I will test it out when I get home and then post results.

I have found that adding 40 % to the height works well.

(This is with the start screen full of tiles, but not so full that the All apps link starts to fall off the page. If you want to cover the whole page you might only want to add a third to the height.)
