I have been looking to get the 830 and use it with my gophone sim but don't know what version to get. While the international is cheaper i like the look of the at&t version better and i figure it would work better with gophone since its an at&t service. Anyone have any input.

TBH, I'm through with on-contract phones. I'd go for the international version.

The version you posted info for doesn't have LTE that would be compatible with at&t in the U.S., which the OP seems to want. The RM-985, on the other hand, would work as it has AWS (1700/2100--band 4), 1900 (band 2), and 700MHz (band 17) LTE

The international one (which I have) works fine with AT&T, just no LTE, only HSPA+ speeds.
I get 10~13 MPS hspa+ speeds on AT&T which is more than fast enough for me.

It's only about 344 for the att version now from US based sellers. Be careful to because there are a lot of international for that price too.

My 920 with 4G only just got 17/5, so that's pretty usable. I guess closer to a tower 4G would shine but isn't really necessary

Yeah, that's more than enough speed for anything. My wifi internet connection at home is "only" 8 mps and I can easily stream and watch a HD movie on my TV, surf websites even those with videos, use my tablet and/or my phone for email, texting, chatting, all at the same time with no problem at all, with all of them only my "lowly slow wifi" :)

Any issues with internet sharing with your 830?

I realize you were asking Fred but as an additional data point I have an unbranded/unlocked RM-985 (B&H sourced, Latin America variant) with T-mobile and internet sharing works fine for me. Straight out of the box, no messing with APN etc required.

I got the international version erroneously (stupid ebay sellers), and get no network at all using Cricket (I used a test SIM in there store). Anyone have success with Cricket and the international version?

That's strange. They must have given you a CDMA SIM that's covered by Sprint's network. Tell them you have a GSM phone and need the SIM that's covered by their AT&T network. If your Lumia 830 is unlocked it will work on Cricket, but you need the right SIM. If it's an RM-984 variant (most likely) you should be getting H and H+ speeds on Cricket. If it's an RM-985 (less likely since there aren't many of them on Ebay) you'd be getting full LTE. On the plus side, you probably won't notice much of a difference being on H and H+ vs LTE, and if you set your max connection speed to 3G, you'll get a bit better battery life than those using full LTE.

I can vouch for Cricket and the RM-985 version (Latin America). LTE works fine similar to any other LTE enabled phones. Downside is, Internet Sharing settings are disabled the moment cricket SIM card is inserted mainly because Cricket does not support Internet Sharing (officially)

I have a 1320, using a Latin American rom but still locked by Cricket - no internet sharing with the Cricket SIM; however when I use my 920 with the same SIM - originally AT&T but unlocked and flashed to the Rogers rom I can use internet sharing. Had to set the phone up with Access Point and an International SIM but it works.

Edit; I see from some of your other posts that you have had the same experience, I was hoping that after unlocking the 1320, internet sharing would work on Cricket - evidently not, so looks like I'm going back to straight talk once the 4 months is up with Cricket and I get the unlock code.
