Hello. I'm currently thinking about switching to the Lumia 830 so I am wondering how is it compared to the Lumia 640 as I like my 640 but I miss having wireless charging, full glance support and a camera shutter button.

Performance is identical having owned both. But the extra features on the 830 are nice. The feel in hand is better and I think the screen is a bit better as well. Good luck.

Ebay has a couple of them quite cheap for the ATT version and xandros9 has a nice RM-985 for sale in the Marketplace.

I think the general consensus, from another topic, is to avoid the AT&T version entirely at the moment. unless you hate netflix and updates :)

Yeah especially since no full Denim support so I am thinking about buying one and purchase the motherboard of the RM-985 and do a swap.

Thanks. There's also one on eBay that's a RM-985 but it has a cracked screen and I think it'll be a waste of time just to replace the screen.

gordonfink will be able to help you with that.
I'm still trying to trade my 830 for a 640 +cash so if you'd like to do such a thing that'd be great.

Thanks, just pm'ed him about the motherboard, I may have to swap it out at a later time. Sounds great, I'm still trying to decide whether I should trade my Lumia 640 or sell it.

I'll tell you honestly - xandros mentioned something like a 640 plus $100ish. The last RM-985 I sold, was for more than $220. By my reckoning, xandros' deal is about $50 less than that.

well, that seems to have changed overnight.... AT&T 830's can now restore to the latest Denim with Update 2.

Sounds more tempting to buy now. Haha. Windows Phone carrier branding is now where near as bad as carrier branding on Android Phones.

it's a wait and see again on the RM-983.... people are reporting not seeing the update now. Maybe an accidental early release?

Probably? I may just keep my Lumia 640 after all since I'm very likely keeping my iPod touch unless I can find a great deal on the AT&T Lumia 830.

If you have a 640, I'd wait for a faster phone as the 830 is basically the same speed. Other than camera it feels almost identical to me (I have both)

If still interested in 830, someone on slickdeals posted a good deal for lumia 830:
AT&T Nokia Lumia 830 No-Contract Smartphone + Fitbit Flex $170 + Free Shipping (1 year efurb warranty)

p.s. cannot post link because my posting is less than 10, errrrr.
