Screen flickering on low brightness in a dark room?

It's ridiculous but why would the screen on my lumia 830 subtly flicker in a dark room on the lowest brightness settings? It's most visible on a white background like when you are browsing the internet for example.

Is battery saver on? It only happens to me when battery saver mode is on.

Nope, it happens when the screen is on the lowest possible brightness settings. I'm suspecting you have the same "problem", because when the battery saver is on, the brightness level drops to preserve battery life. Go to settings and 'brightness' then uncheck 'automatic' and set to low. Then head over to 'display' settings and go to brightness profile and drop the brightness to the lowest level.
