Ringer and Loud speaker problem

I used Nokia Lumia 830 since April 2015. From few days, no ringtone and apps sound and loud speaker have no sound. I can only hear and talk to others when it is normal mode. Could anyone help me please

First of all, is the phone new or did you purchase it from a previous owner? Secondly, what exactly is "normal mode" and why not always use it in "normal mode"?
