Back-ordered Already?

I placed an order in the store on the 30th and this is the status of my order right now.

I hope it isn't really back-ordered.

If I remember right when I preordered my iPhone 4 it still shipped and got to me early even though it said back ordered.

every time i have done a pre order i have gotten that status its because is not officially released yet so its back ordered i questioned this before and my item shipped on the normal time.

Ok. Hopefully it will ship normally. It seems that pre-orders are never smooth.

Yes, it is because of how the system is set up. Every item has to be listed as either shipping or backordered. Since the phone will not be shipping for a few days yet, they can't list it as shipped/shipping, so backordered is the only other option. On a side note, Amazon Wireless does say they are back ordered on it which means they either sold out of their launch day stock or didn't get an allotment for launch day in the first place.
