The Nokia Lumia 900: A good phone at a great price that you probably shouldn't buy

If I understand his article correctly, then my question is why did he not make a more objective comparison, instead it seems as though he is earnestly recommending everyone not to buy WP7, especially from AT&T.

Other than that, the article comes across as relatively anti WP7 even though it does make valid points concerning the update/OTA process for smartphones in regards to carriers.

Strange article

Pretty long article for the amount of real news and info that it contains.

And I think if you try so hard to find problems and value them in the way this author did for the Lumia 900 as offered by AT&T, you will find problems with any smartphone/carrier combination, and you won't buy any smartphone ever with a good feeling.

Easy to get the suspicion that the author does not yet know much about smartphones and therefore cannot put things into proper context.

By his logic no one should buy an android phone. How many of them have received the update to the latest version of their OS? Apart from at&t all WP handsets are pretty much up to date so he really doesn't have a valid argument against the OS, just the carrier.

Really, these people are just WP/Microsoft haters trying to spread FUD, Microsoft has already proved that they update all their devices with the latest hardware being able to take advantage of all the new software capabilities while older devices can't. No reason to believe anything has changed in this respect. We really need to stop listening to morons just because they happen to write for a website, they have their own agendas and are generally not any more knowledgeable than anyone else.

Android has the same problem. ICS has been out for many months now and the flagship models are still not updated.

ICS is a major update though, and to not have major updates sent out is the big issue. AT&T has been holding off on a couple small updates for WP, and stated specifically they are rolling them into one bigger one (Tango).

Apollo will likely be just as smooth or smoother than the Mango release was.
