Question about updating software on the Lumia

I am assuming you use the Zune software to do this on a Windows machine.

I downloaded the Zune software on my laptop and hooked up the Nikia to the computer but the software never recognized the phone. I restated my computer but now the Zune program doesn't even start. When I open it, the initial Zune software start screen pops up, but nothing happens after that. I tried restarting the machine a few times, but it didn't help.

Question:
Is there a different Zune software just to manage the Windows phone or is it all in the same app just like iTunes. Any tips on why I can't get it to work? Should I try reinstalling the program?

Yeah try reinstalling. Sometimes it takes a bit of time before my computer recognizes my HD7 but it always works...

yea, I would try to reinstall, what version of windows are you using? x86? x64?


also, I think some of the older versions of zune (I don't know if they changed it in the latest version) didn't work right if your copy of windows wasn't legitimate and was hacked via a particular method.
