Will the International version of Lumia 920 work on Fido?

I do believe that a UK unlocked device would work in Fido's bands. AFAIK Rogers uses the UK bands for 2G and 3G, just like AT&T. Don't know about 4G though. Unfortunately, it does look like a UK version will be Everything Everywhere unlocked...

Doesn't UK just use the global version?

There's two version of Lumia 920. The AT&T specific model with less bands and the global version with following bands:
GSM 1800
GSM 1900
GSM 850
GSM 900
LTE Band 1 (2100)
LTE Band 20 (800)
LTE Band 3 (1800)
LTE Band 7 (2600)
LTE Band 8 (900)
WCDMA Band I (2100)
WCDMA Band II (1900)
WCDMA Band V (850)
WCDMA Band VIII (900)

True, but the global version doesn't support the AWS band, so carriers like T-Mo USA are out of the question. And Verizon? Sprint? Don't even think about it!

and one more thing, are there any advantages buying an International phone rather than buying a unlocked Rogers phone?

The international version will receive updates as soon as Nokia releases them whereas the Rogers/carrier-based phone updates need more time to get released as the carriers need to customize the updates first.

Keep in mind though that Microsoft did mention an opt-in method to bypass the carrier in updates.

If both were the same price, and the AWS 1700 band is something you do not need, I'd go with the international version.

I am in your shoes as I will be getting the 920 off contract. I am waiting on pricing and dates before I decide if I buy it from Rogers or get an international one on eBay. Currently have the Lumia 900 with Rogers.

Yeah, I do not care about the AWS. All I need is an unlocked phone. I guess, I will buy the International version. Thanks again folks.

Not sure if MMS, group texting and internet sharing are of any importance to you but from my experience buying one from another carrier will disable those features for you. Unless you find a way to obtain the Nokia network setup app.

According to the FCC docs, the "AT&T" version has AWS for both 3G and LTE.

https://apps.fcc.gov/oetcf/eas/repo...omFrame=N&application_id=967177&fcc_id='PYAA'

Look at the "SAR r2" report:
