what are the settings you guys are using besides lowering the iso? I took some really quick shots last night ( first few with the phone) and they were fugly. they looked like cheap web cam pics. they were taken in low light. very blurry washed out

For some of the photos yes. The last pictures starting with parking lot and there on are all full auto, no post processing. I like to tweak photos and play around with settings of the camera. Thats the only way you will get really good photos. The 920 is a great point and shoot camera, but its fully capable of making professional looking shots if you set your white balance, exposure, ISO properly.

I don't have a problem with you post processing pictures at all. I just wanted to know if I was comparing apples to apples or apples to oranges. Obviously a shot that has been run through some post processing will look better than others who are posting images straight from their phones.

Just a side note, he is using Nokia Creative Studio for post-processing right on the phone.

That definitely should not be the case. Even using all Auto settings you should be getting very nice shots in low light. I have gotten really great results both indoors and out. Keep in mind also that even though this phone has optical image stabilization, that only really compensates for tiny movements. You still need a steady hand because it is taking in a lot of light. Try tapping the screen instead of using the camera button and see which is more stable for you. Some people when they press down on a shutter key will end up moving the camera.

A great photo about campfire ... yeah, the most phone cameras will be failing with this kind of photos (partial very high light photos) ... I really like it

I just made a quick edit for it (decreasing high light and increasing low light), to see how good it is - yeah, it is nice one for a such demanding photo ...

I don't have a picture to post, but I do have a question about the camera. I have a toddler and we take quite a few inside shots. How fast is the capture? When I use my Titan II, I get a lot of blurry shots...he moves. Would the 920 do a better job here? I am pretty excited about the low light shots.

For anyone that want to see how the front camera is: (I probably had the phone too close to my cat's face, so her nose is not as focused with the front camera XD)

and I suggest that when you are taking pictures with the front camera. use 4:3 aspect ratio ONLY. 16:9 stretches the picture.

Took a few more test shots around town this morning with default settings and no flash. Tweaking the ISO settings can produce even better results, but it was too cold for me to fool around with it.

Wow thanks guys. Can't wait to get my hands on this phone! Too bad it will be available in our country late December or Early January. But it will be worth it, I'm sure of it.

I put my 920 in my dashboard cradle for the drive home from Asda to test the stabilisation of the camera...
the result was -

• 23:18 video
• 2.5gb
• battery went from 82% to 69% ( can't do too much video in 1 day with this!!)
• You can see how much vibration and uneven the roads are by the join in the cradle bouncing around but the camera is pretty good most of the time - i say it handles 75% of the journey pretty well with hardly any shaking....much better than I expected. And the roads it couldn't cope with I wouldn't expect anything apart from a professional movie crew to cope with. lol.
