Ordered my L920 from EBay, should I try a factory reset?

So I ordered my yellow L920 from Ebay on Wednesday and it should be arriving today. All these threads citing issue after issue are worrying me, mainly because it would be more difficult for me to exchange/return my phone considering I didn't buy it directly from AT&T (though it's an AT&T branded/locked version). I got it from a reputable seller and all, but still.

There have been too many posts on here of people bricking their device simply by doing a factory reset. Yet plenty of people swear their battery life has gotten much better after a factory reset. I'm wondering if I should try a factory reset right away to make sure I don't have the bricking problem, but I'm worried about my ability to exchange or return the device if it indeed bricks.

Thoughts?

I wouldn't, unless you have issues. My battery life seems to be getting better day by day if that's possible. I'm not a believer in "battery conditioning", but I do abide by the rule to leave it plugged in at least 8 hours on the initial charge.

I'm a nightly charger, so plugged in at 12:00 or so, then off the charger around 7:00 or 8:00.

I am not really sure if you want to do a Factory Rest on a brand new phone. In my experience, my phone battery got better by day after couple of charges. If you have to do a reset, first setup your phone with our any apps and then do a rest. I am not even sure why I've said that... :)
