If you've done a soft reset, my next time would be to do a hard reset. Hopefully its not a faulty sensor.

Are you using a case or screen protector?

    Hi,
The screen gets turned off during a phone call when the proximity sensor is covered. This is done to avoid accidental touch screen actions when you are in a call.

I have done a soft reset. Perhaps I'll try another and see what happens. Yes, I know what the proximity sensor is for. Thanks

That was the issue. Did another soft reset and all is well. Thanks!
