Through who? I was quoted $199 deductible at $10 a month for the 920. Which phone do you have?

AT&T is $6.99/mo with up to a $199 deductible. In my opinion this isn't worth it but I keep my previous phones in the case there is an issue where insurance would be needed. At $6.99 it's roughly $84/year + the $125 so if you look at that cost long term it would be like this:

If you had to replace the phone at 12 months: $208.88, 18 months: $250.82. Now that's a potential savings of $240.12 if you had to replace at 12 months but to me I'd rather not pay for the insurance at the risk of paying an extra $240.12 for a replacement.

Only you can really decide at what point you think the risk outweighs the cost of replacement.

I just purchased a Square Trade warranty. I had a special $40 discount code, but you can usually find $30 codes (30% with $30 max). It is $125 for 2 years (or you can pay more if you do it monthly), minus any discount code you use. So I paid $85 for 2 years or a little more than $3.5 a month. If they cannot fix the phone, they will pay for a replacement. TI believe the deductible is $100, and I have always had excellent service with Square Trade. I can cancel at any time and get the remainder of the warranty refunded. I have never bought a warranty on a cell phone before, but I have never had such a nice phone as the 920. You have 30 days from the date you purchase the phone to purchase a warranty, and it is all done online. You can check their reviews, and they are always excellent. I have bought quite a few of them, and have placed 2 claims over the years that were processed extremely fast.

If you buy it at a microsoft store, get Microsoft Assure, it is only $99 for two years, then if you have any issues the deductible is only $50. After two incidents the warranty ends.

Sounds like it, glad I didn't go with it since it seems they didn't quote me correctly. Hopefully. I'll never need it.
@Jastow

Whoever quoted you was incorrect. It's 6.99 a month for the basic insurance ($10 a month is insurance + some other useless crap like tech support), and the deductible is $125.

Here's the deductible listing: http://www.wireless.att.com/learn/en_US/pdf/wireless-phone-insurance-deductible-schedule.pdf
