I'm from Waterloo, Ontario, Canada and just had a trip up to the Blue Mountain Resorts. For the drive there, I used my friend's iPhone 4S with Apple Maps. I was skeptical at first, but it brought us there without any problems. For the drive back, I decided to give Drive a go.

Its faster route option takes roughly 2.5 hours with ~170km. Its shorter route option takes 2 hours with ~140km. This threw me off, and since Google, Apple and even Here (tried to link but its URL contains square brackets that screw up BBCode) defaults to a route similar to what the shorter route option gave me, I went for that option.

Code:

It wasn't long before I got directed to plenty of unpaved roads (option was disabled) that I did not have on the way to the resort with Apple Maps. Worst still, I was getting instructions like stay left on 1-lane streets, turn slightly right when there's only a full right turn available AND the blue highlight for the route just ends at that point, etc.

Another one was that both Apple Maps and Google Maps was asking me to turn right, but Drive told me to keep driving straight with a left turn ahead, but I noticed the right turn was highlighted too. So I decided to zoom out and take a look, this was what I saw:

Needless to say, I took my 920 off the car mount and put an iPhone on.

And here's the thing, I've used Navigon (NAVTEQ maps) on my iPhone 3GS for the exact same origin/destination before and there was no problems, no unpaved roads. I also understand that it's in beta and I love my Lumia 920, but this is just.. ugh!
