I've been having freezing issues with my 920 to the point that I can't wait for another firmware update. Since Portico it's been happening about twice a day (was only once a week before that). AT&T has said they'll exchange the phone for me, but they don't have any yellow in stock right now, so I'll have to wait a week or to (or more) until they get more in stock. Another option is to send the phone into the Nokia service center (they pay for round trip shipping), but it takes 5-10 business days before I get my phone back (I've got a backup phone I can use). Seeing as to I'm looking at about the same amount of time with either method, which one would be better? It seems like with AT&T I'm going to get a refurbished phone, but with Nokia they may either repair or just rplace my phone with a new one. Since they haven't been very open about the problems with the 920 resetting, I'm worried they're going to just open it up, say nothing is wrong and send it back.

    Any thoughts or suggestions?

It sounds like you have a pretty good idea about your options. I actually just got an exchange from AT&T. I don't know if it's refurbished or not (although they said they have the right to give you a refurb), but it's in perfect shape and works perfectly. I can't tell you from the Nokia side, but replacement through AT&T worked well, although next time I would pay for the faster shipping.

did you get your phone online or through a store? i havent heard of at&t giving people refurbished lumia 920's. as far as i've heard they just send you a new one. if you went the at&t route you would still be able to use your current 920 until your replacement came. if you went the nokia route you'd have to go back to your old phone. i'd go the at&t route.

Does anyone know how long it takes Nokia to do the repair and get it back to you? I'm about to leave for vacation and I use my phone as the GPS. I'm a little worried the L920 is going to crash on me mid-trip and I'll have to reboot the thing. Really tempted to just take my L900 with me and hopefully Nokia can get the 920 back to be by the time I get back.

I did a warranty exchange from AT&T last month and got a refurb. It was still in a great condition though. It came inside a brown box and not original box.
