Data Roaming Query

My N920 is set to "don't roam", which I think is the standard setting for most mobiles. However looking online at my Orange / EE account it states that roaming is included in my price plan.

Now, occasionally my mobile signal drops to "wtf no signal" status - even while sat on my desk, so if I change the phones status to "yes please do roam" would you expect this to make any difference or does roaming only work into the equation when abroad?

Orange allow you to use your phone abroad signified by the roaming being allowed.

the handset option will just prevent your phone connecting to data whilst abroad, it won't change the way that it functions in the UK if you change it.

Cheers for that. A dumb question I guess but I honestly couldnt find the answer!
