There is a service on ebay, where the seller will replace your back cover for you, for a fee of around 35.

You send the phone to the address provided by the seller, and within 24 hours they will send the phone back to you. All delivery is done via special delivery.

What id like to ask is, has anyone used this service before? And, would you likely use it? Im a bit skeptical, but wanted opinions before i send it off.

I don't know about this. If you could (and I suggest that you do so), go to the address (assuming you know where it is) and verify the operation.

Yeah right, we ALL live near Morecambe as the UK is so small....... . The feedback looks genuine and I've been through a lot of them, lots mentioning the service being very quick. Make sure you send your phone through an insured service as a back up. Let us all know how it goes if you use them.
