How can I tell if I have the latest software?

I have a suspicion that my new unlocked Lumia isn't running the latest software.

How can I find out? And is there any way I can force an update? It tells me there are no updates available.

Sorry if these are silly questions, I'm very new to Windows Phone.

Goto settings then scroll down to Phone Update and click on that to check

Yeah I did that, and it said no updates. Maybe it is up to date.

I seem to remember reading about a settings feature that Nokia had that let you mess with the colours, and I can't find it. That's what makes me wonder if its up to date or not

I think the color profile settings are in an upcoming Nokia update 'Amber', as well as a few other things.

You should be able to look under settings > system > about > more information...to see what versions of firmware you're running.
