    Hi all,

I want to know what video player you prefer and if it works properly, and with subtitles?

    Thanks

As far as I know there aren't any 3rd party video players with subtitle support available and subtitle support is also lacking in WP.

I have not found a player offering subtitle support, but by using mediacoder, I am able to hardcode subtitles while converting videos for the 920. Settings I use are

    Video: h264
    Audio: lc-AAC
    container: mp4
    Subtitle -- mode: text render

works good, but nothing beats having a dedicated player with mkv and subtitle support on WP. Esp when 6" 1080p lumia 1520 is coming out.

I found a option in windows phone 8.1 video player to use subtitles. I was impressed to see that option but I haven't used it.
Try upgrading to 8.1 and see it for yourself

Moli player pro can play any format and supports subtitle and mkv too. It has a trial version too.

Which video format and subtitles format did you use? I see "subtitles" option on W8.1 but it is disabled. (subtitles in the same folder and same name)

I use moliplayer pro for watching videos. Best app for watching videos. Has support for subtitles as well as file transfer over WiFi. The subtitles feature included in the 8.1 is apparently not working I have tried many times.

Simple connect your pc and phone over the same WiFi network,
Open moliplayer pro swipe left go to WiFi file transfer and then type the IP address shown there in any browser on your pc.
    Upload the files and play.

P.S.- you can change where you want to save the file in the settings page.

Yes correct. Maybe they can change that on wp8.1. Given the liberty they have
