Just bought a Lumia 920, noticed this immediately. Should I replace the camera module?

I immediately noticed that nearly every photo I take with it, the left edge of the photo is MUCH more blurry than the rest of the photo. I have attached examples. i circled what I mean in two examples.

Here's a photo of a close up, I've never noticed blurring on the left edge in the close up (perhaps because it's blurred anyway

Here's a photo of a carpet. The carpet was uniform in reality, you can see how blurred it is in the left edge

Coming from a Nexus 4 is a huge upgrade but I am more disappointed with the camera than I can admit.
Things i've tried:
Reseted the camera settings
focused by tapping on the screen
focused by shutter button
Turning the phone off and back on
wiped the back of the phone
Is it a lens problem? Would getting a new camera module fix the issue? I am on the latest firmware (3014) by the way.

I bought the phone used off craigslist, i may still be able to get warranty coverage but i'm not comfortable sending my phone off in a package somewhere in Ontario for it to be fixed by Nokia which could take weeks. I'd rather replace it myself.

Something is wrong with it, that is not normal. However, I wouldn't replace it yourself. Its still under warranty. Nokia is pretty fast with their repair service, at least in the States. Do you have any old phones you can use in the meantime?

Yeah, I have HD photo viewer. The photos you see uploaded to Imgur were the raw photo, they're exactly as seen in HD photo viewer.

My 920 just came back from EE UK for being repaired for battery and memory problems, before the repair the camera was excellent but now it's just like the photos shown by the op  so I took it back to the EE store yesterday and they have sent it off for repair again :banghead: I only had it back for 3 days, so it may well be a software fault as all they did before was reflash the firmware.
So if you can send it back for repair ;-)

This is what i'm afraid of. I'm afraid they'll mess something else up. I'm willing to bet they didn't just reflash the firmware but replaced your entire motherboard along with the camera as well carelessly.

Well on the job sheet it said "Update firmware, make adjustments, add new screw's"

So the make adjustments bit could be a mother board and camera module, still let's see how it fairs when it gets back, mind you at this rate it will have been in for repair longer than I've actually had it

@op:

i don't have the 920, but saw several pictures with the blurry left part. Just like your pics... Check out the "you 920 fotos and videos"-thread. You should find a few other users with the same problem. Don't know where it comes from though... maybe all the others know?

I wish you good luck, my friend :)

It is either a problem called chromatic aberrition (lense issue) or an issue w the firmware regarding AF ( AF still active during shutter going off )
Pictures like the building are not good ones to show at the shop, since the focus is on the leading edge of the building - to best illustrate a possible issue, look up the chromatic aberrition and how to test for it. Regardless of whats causing it, hope it works out in the end! and hope dont get a 920 w issues when its delivered sometime next week =S

I just got off the phone with at&t about camera issues with my 3 month old 920. The front camera on mine never worked. Tried everything nothing worked. Finally did a reset, bad idea the icon that was
once there for the front camera is gone. Long story short at&t is shipping me another 920. But from what iv'e read on this forum and other sites the camera is not very stable.

I have the same problem. It doesn't appear on most photos, but on some you can see the blurring on the left of a landscape photo. Have no idea why it happens
