I tried to find this problem I had online before posting but I couldn't find anything.

I recently first tried using the Skype Video Call feature and I notice after what may have been 20 minutes my battery dropped maybe 30% battery. I then ended the call, and charged my battery full and then tried the video call again. The next time I made a video call, I plugged my phone in immediately during the whole call. Eventually without me realizing until too late my phone battery completely died. My phone literally died while being plugged in and charging. Is this normal behavior for battery drain while using Skype Video Call??

I haven't had that many long calls on Skype, it could be, does your phone get hot on the upper back when this happens?

Mine did this ( and hot hot as hell) before the update. Still uses battery but not as much and doesn't get hot. I would delete Skype, reload and give it another go.

OFC not, mine does get hot too (normal but i skype twice a day for like a half hour) so i can expect it to drain the battery a bit since its using alot of resources but not literally draining it to death while still plugged in, so somethings not right there.

As christenmartin suggested, reinstall the app itself or wait a bit for the GDR2 update, it s stated that Skype will have a better stability.

A Skype video call causes 60% battery discharge an hour.

Providing your charger is a 2A charger, not some 500mA incompatible unit (e.g. old iPhone/iPad/PC port) then it should cope.
