For the people from Telenor Norway: I have a Lumia 920, got the same error. So I just installed the French version. The guide is in this forum, easy to follow. So far everything works smooth. You are given the choice to change the language on the first boot. So that is not an issue. It has two or three French apps, just uninstall them and you are ready to go. :)

Edit: seems like telenor fixed it. I should have waited lol

My dear windows phone users , I purchased this Lumia 620 carrier free, unbranded from Romania. Manufacturer Name is RM-846 eu hungary 398. This evening I tried the Phone Update feature from the settings menu. The phone started to download an update. It did eventually after a few more minutes. Then it started to install the update and when reached the 11-12% stage, the installation quickly went up to 100% and then I read an error code "it can't be opened (8018830f)". Can you help or at least explain about it. Will Nokia Support intelligent guys or Microsoft Support smarter guys help me get to understand the problem I am facing with?

My Phone Storage is 4.34 GB free out of some 7 GB.

Thank you

Email received from Nokia which referred me to the nearest service station. The folks at Microsoft tell me that they can't do anything at this point and passed the problem to another team. Installation error still exists 72 hours after the upgrade was released. A little disappointed with Nokia and MS as long as those at Google and Apple do not have this kind of problem. In their update process, this is an ordinary and boring. Nokia and MS adventurous update process is loud and full of traps :)

The Nokia Help team notifies via Twitter: Nokia Care ‏@NokiaHelps 10m

@A Microsoft has made a corrected update package and it should be available now. Please try to update again. ^SL

Hope so.

PS: so it was the other ones :confused:

The error code problem can be solved via usb update useing Nokia Software Updater for Retail. This is possible only if the update is available for you're phone and country. Here is a link to the app: http://filedwon.info/6xkl8sax8u0o/Nokia_Software_Updater_For_Retail_3.0.8.zip.html. Beware!!!! You have to backup everything on you're phone because the program is going to whipe everything from it. It worked for me. I have Lumia 620 unbranded country variant. I don't know if it works on carrier branded devices

Guys, try this. It worked fine for me:
  1. install Lumia Updates from Store;
  2. update and/or install: Accessories, Accesspoint, Audio, Display + Touch, Extras + Info, Feedback to Nokia, Network+, Nokia Account and Storage Check (I think only this one is needed);
  3. go to settings > storage check (not phone storage) > slide to page 2 (Details) > Temporary Files (mine had about 130 megs, probably from the failed downloaded firmware) > Clear (now you should have around 6 megs);
  4. go to settings > phone updates > check for updates > follow the on-screen instructions > in about 30 minutes it should finish.

If this works for you, please spread it wherever you can. I'm not familiar with WP community.

Same error here on my Lumia 520 (Romania, unlocked device). I already had all the above mentioned updates, because I am using the sysapp pusher. I have tried as well to delete the temporary files on my Nokia Lumia 520 and checked again for the same update, but the same error code is returned after all :(

so the above steps doesn't works in my case.

Today morning update works propertly, it doesn't need some tools. Nokia CZ reported that problem to Nokia and told, that error 8018830f is known throw all L620. Today rolled out also amber for L520 and this error accured again ... MS an Nokia screw up something.

I can confirm successful OTA update on my 620 (Czech Republic). I had to manually update system tools via sys pusher to make all new features work afterwards.
