That's right. I used to keep my Lumia 920 on "3G" to extend battery life, while sacrificing speed, but it appears that all I was doing in the end was the latter.
There are two scenarios when my phone would heat up and it would drive me crazy:
1. Just running the official MS Facebook app (browsing only).
2. Using the official YouTube app and other HD-capable 3rd party YouTube apps.
And then, more recently, my phone was just warming up doing pretty much nothing to the point I was getting disloyal thoughts.
However, short of ideas, I tried to run the phone in LTE mode and see how that affected things.
To my surprise, the phone runs cooler, my battery life has improved significantly (24 hours on a single charge, no problem), and running the two apps above does not overheat the phone, especially Facebook.
Just wanted to share the tip
