Bought a new Lumia 920 - Firmware doubts

Recently got a new Lumia 920 and the firmware version is - 1232.5957.1308.0001

On Nokia's page (Availability in Asia Pacific - Nokia), it says that the latest version is 3047.0000.1326.2009.

I wanna know why there is such a big difference? How do I update my phone and from where do I check whether I am on Amber or not?

check your phone is updated with latest firmware as you will go in settings and check there is option of phone update, there will be you can update your phone.

Unable to check for updates (80072ee2)

check your phone is updated with latest firmware as you will go in settings and check there is option of phone update, there will be you can update your phone.

Well yes I'm connected to WiFi and everything is working fine, but still the error. And what kind of data are you asking to check?
BTW what is the firmware version on your Lumia 920?

try installing a new keyboard language, then try to update again. my 920 firmware v is 3049.0000.1330.0006.

Sorry for being a noob, actually the phone is for my mom and I don't wanna install dev/beta builds on it.

try installing a new keyboard language, then try to update again. my 920 firmware v is 3049.0000.1330.0006.

BTW nobody answered this - How do I check whether I'm on Amber or not? I know I'm not on Black yet but I wanna ensure that at least I'm on Amber.

I am waiting as u have got updates or not as you have installing new keyboard language
still if you don't get soft reset your phone (press volume down + power key both for 10-15 seconds)
after that may be you got update

after update you have to update some small settings app like sound, extras+ info etc, for this please install sysapp pusher
in extras+info u will know u are using Lumia amber

Go to settings > extras+info. It should say "Lumia amber"

with soft reset no data gone as it will work when your phone sometime hangs or some weird
now no soft reset as your update is in progress

Okay so finally the update is installed. The firmware version now is 3047.0000.1326.2001. That's nice, but still not same as 3047.0000.1326.2009 as mentioned on Availability in Asia Pacific - Nokia. And yes, I see the word 'Amber' in extras+info.

Any idea why it's 3047.xxxx.xxxx.2001 and not 3047.xxxx.xxxx.2009 even after the update?

that's I don't know but now you have to update all app including app in settings (like extras+ info, sound, touch, glance etc), so for this Install Sysapp pusher from store

Is SysApp Pusher compulsory? As in shouldn't the Store notify me of updates automatically on it's own?

as it will show update only once in 24 hours and that time will be fix so better be you have running internet running 24 hours
store tile would be on start screen for update apps
I don't have patience sometime so I checked on sysapp pusher

The 3047.0000.1326.2009 is the firmware version for Nokia Black update.which is not available yet in most locations.
You are current for firmware updates if you have Amber listed in extras+info.

In settings, phone update, you can set the phone to notify you when updates are available.
You don't need SysApp Pusher.

Oh is it? Then why does it list 2009 as the latest version but still says 'Coming Soon' for Black?
