Cheap Digitizer issues

Hey People!
I cracked my digitizer a few months ago and so got a cheap replacement off of ebay which I'm sure you'll know as I do now that was a mistake.

It mostly worked for a while but then wouldn't charge and would hang a lot needing a reboot, if it actually boots.
I think I'll get another from replacebase, but they are not in stock for another week or so.

Does anyone have any tips to actually making something like this cheap one work so I can use it till then?

Like, heat it up or cool it down or smear it with lard or something? :)

Hmmm...

I wonder if the ribbon contacts were exposed to something that corroded them slightly?
Pretty sure it doesn't take much to affect signal transfer at low voltages.

How much is eBay getting for those digitizers these days?

Oh! ... and welcome to WPC!

Thanks.
I got it for about ?15.
It was a couple of months it was hanging around before I got round to fitting it so you could be right... I may try cleaning them up and connecting again.

I had just been reading other threads where it seemed a common thing for them to be faulty, but perhaps it makes it seem like they all are as you don't raise a post to say it worked!
