My lumia 920's proximity, accelerometer and compas sensors are malfunctioning [water damage, some fluid fell on the in-call speaker near the front facing camera [which is full of dust before it broke, never had time to let it get fixed for free] and that broke all these sensors [at first the proximity was glowing red, as commonly mentioned by other users.]

So my question is; is it worth the repair [DIY/payed] or should i go for an upgrade, although im not on that big of a budget these days, i'm really doubting because the 920 works fine still but i will need an follow up soon.

Any suggestions?

And if i where to go for a new device; i like an smooth experience but i dont really play games that much anyway, so a good screen [higher dpi] and screen size would be important.

I hate to bump, but iam really clueless what to do.. I can wait out for the 730/830 but that will be a at least a couple of months wait. 630 could be an option but its screen is said to be bad and no front facing camera/prox sensor did but put me slightly of

Your phone seems pretty dead... most of those sensors components are located in the logic board of the phone. Getting a new board could be tricky and quite expensive. Also, the water damage makes the things even worst... in my opinion not worth the bother and money to get it repair.

Couple of options you can look for:

Buy a L1320, big screen and good resolution, the pixel density is ok.
Or buy a used L820 and wait for the 730/830, the L820 it may not have a great screen resolution or a high pixel density... but at least there are more features on the 820 vs 630.

Well i can hang on to my 920, although without the sensors, and wait out the 7/830's release. 630 would have been perfect if it had FF camera/ and a better screen with auto brightness.

What do you guys reckon the price will be of the 730 and 830? [its all guessing at this moment ofcourse, but usually it can be pretty well predicted]

I think you should wait . The 730/830 are planned to have 1GB Ram. I predict the 730 will cost ?399 and the 830 will cost ?499

Are you sure about ? 499, in my country the 930 is now priced at ? 470
My mistake, the 930 costs ?499 in my region. The 730 should be around ?299 and 830 will be ?399. If you switch from 920 to 630 you'll notice huge differences. It will work slower, smaller app market, no flash etc. The 830 would be a perfect upgrade phone.
