I haven't seen numbers like these since before the Lumia Black update. Dev Preview's debug code lived on my battery like termites. But that's gone now and its really improved. Nice job with Cyan.

I'm getting better battery life with cyan too, even though I also added dev preview update 1, since I wanted Live Folders.

I'm not surprised. Since the firmware for DP was not tailored to any specific device, it was never calibrated to the hardware.
I put on 8.1.1 and the battery is still solid.

Microsoft Solitaire will kill my 920's fully charged battery in less than an hour, otherwise all other apps and games on my phone work properly (battery usage wise) and the battery usually lasts me the day.

Microsoft Solitaire is rogue. That thing saps more energy than my socket can provide. I had mine on charge and it still sapped the battery.

I know on IOS, apps are updated to work better with the new OS. but, I suspect if the app was optimised for WP7, its likely to behave more rogue-like on WP 8.1. I think Apple require developers do that but I could be wrong here.

i'm on dp 8.1 update 1 and i can't receive cyan update, the battery life is terrible, how can i update to cayon?
If it has been released for your phone and carrier then.
1. Make sure backup is set
2. Download Nokia care suite on computer and then connect phone (you will be reverting to wp8). Choose not to load backup.
3. Do update ota
4. Do update ota (this time it should be wp8.1/ cyan).
5. Hard reset phone and choose to start from your backup.
5. a. Sign in to your microsoft account. After choosing backup, when phone comes on sign back into WiFi and it will begin redownloading all of your apps (this can take a while)
6. Turn preview for developer on
7. Do ota update for wp8.1 update 1
Done!

Only other way is to wait for Microsoft to release the hold on phones running preview for developers (it could be a couple weeks).

Btw after you are done setup the new battery app, then go I and manully block the apps you don't want running in the background. Makes a big difference.

Got the Cyan update via NSRT today a about 3 hrs back.. Well its too early to comment on the battery life.. I see the 1 day 15 hrs of battery that always happens when a hard reset is done so dont think my phone will last that long.

Also hijacking the thread .. do you guys see an arrow over your network and wifi signal.. wondering whats that for ???? Also did not do the DP update.. on plain vanilla Cyan update .. Lets see how the battery holds up, missing the live folders though

Atrocious battery drain on cyan... Just about 4 background tasks. Anyone else facing this issue ??? Its about 11.5% per hour

The arrows show when they are being used.
