Why does my battery die when in a hard reset (Lumia 920)?

Battery dies when in hard reset (lumia 920)

I started the hard reset with about 30% (not ideal, I know), but while it was performing the hard reset it shut down and showed the battery empty symbol. A bit later it started again and began the hard reset again, but then the battery was dead again. Now I am stuck in this loop.

Thanks in advance for the answers!

Re: Battery dies when in hard reset (lumia 920)

Make sure you ALWAYS have more then 70% battery before trying a hard reset.

Why? The battery will not charge during the gears turning process, which means it will die even if plugged into the charger.

Try leaving it on the charger, and you might get lucky to get it charged up enough. If not, you may have to go through one of those many tutorials online about how to remove that 920 battery, and you may have to put it on a charging adapter that will allow you to charge the battery without the phone. If the 920 had a normal user replaceable battery, I'd say swap it out with a fully charged one, but you're in a tough spot there.
