Hello guys !

I wanna switch my HTC 8X to a 920 or 925. I can't make my choice, is there a real changes in Lumia 925 or it's just a "920+" ?

Thanks for you answer.

Besides being thinner and lighter, the 925 has an AMOLED screen which helps it have better battery life. It also has an extra lens in the camera for sharper images. The 925's frame is made of aluminum as well, giving it a "higher end feel" according to many sources (including WPCentral).

At the end of the day it's really up to preference and how much money you're willing to spend. There are not a lot of differences between the two phones besides the design.

Asking yourself if the 925 is just a 920+ is not really the how you should see it. The spec difference doesn't really matter in everyday use (unless you really need 32 gigs and wireless charging).

The main difference between the two devices is the the look and feel. The 925 does feel more comfortable in your hand and in your pocket.

I just switched from a 920 to a 925. The main benefit for me is how much lighter and thinner the 925 is. The 920 is a big lump of phone and you really feel it in your pocket. The 925 also has, in my opinion, a nicer screen with better colour contrast and clarity. The 925 also feels much more premium with the aluminium frame. In fact I can think of no reason why you should choose a 920 over a 925.

If you plan to put that L925 in a case may as well get the L920. It doesn't need a case. Plus you get the wireless charging.

As many can attest here once you have wireless charging you will never want another phone without it.

Planning on switching to a 925 as well from my current unlocked rogers 920. Not sure whether i should be compromising camera for the internal storage. Heck tmobile is fu**ing stupid, even the 822 had 16 + microsd which the 925 doesn't

The 920 is far cheaper, has double the memory, is damn near bullet proof as far as being dropped with no case on the phone at all and has built in wireless charging. If price, memory, durability or built in wireless charging with no case needed is important to you and you don't mind having last years model then get the 920.

The 925 is thinner and lighter with a sixth lens element and a slightly better display. So if your ok with needing a case for wireless charging at an extra fee of unknown amount at this point, willing to spend an extra $100 on the phone itself, ok with just 16gb of storage and want the updated version then get the 925.

In the end it just is a matter of your priorities on certain features / price.

As for me at this point I am torn between keeping my POS 8x or upgrading to the 925, I had every intent or upgrading two months ago when the phone was announced but now I question the price for features of the 925 and the super late release, not to mention we are now two months closer to the new nokia products that get released in November (just 4 months away) so I am thinking I will just wait it out for the new phones and GDR3.

The 925 is sexy, I never bought a windows phone before because they were either too low res or chunky as hell

There is quite a huge weight difference if you hold both phones but some people like it

I would do what exhibit13 is doing and wait for the GDR3 update, 1080p screens, 5" screens, more memory

How do you plan on getting the 925 in Canada. I really want this phone now and don`t feel like waiting. Are you paying full price in the US and trying to unlock the device in Canada. I am on ROgers 920 as well.

He's like me, with T-Mobile in the US but got an unlocked Rogers 920 because of the issues with the 810 being EOL'd within 5 months. The 920 was factory unlocked and completely compatible with our carrier's bands.

For the record, had I not gotten my 920 in May, I would have been all over the 925 right about now. Still debating whether to grab one in the future.

I would say it depends. For example, you can grab a 920 for 200-300 dollars unlocked on ebay. Meanwhile the 925 is 529 through T-mobiles SIMPLE choice plan.. They are basically the same key differences are design (favour to 925) storage (favour to 920) and camera (supposedly 925, but I would say tied)..
