I have a feeling metalchick asked that question to Negri some time ago and the answer was that the phone was intended for T-Mobile Germany and not the US. I would like to see if metalchick weighs in on that and if I remember correctly.

What I do see is that the phone you linked to has WCDMA for it's 3G bands whereas the one I've linked to is mentioning HSDPA. Apparently HSDPA is an upgrade of WCDMA. I cannot say if that is significantly relevant to the question about if the phone is usable here in the US. If metalchick or someone else doesn't weigh in with a conclusive answer you may want to put that question to Negri. If you do, please post the response.
Yes, I indeed asked the rep named Ted about it and he said it's the T-Mobile Germany version. What I don't get is why they list all the T-Mo US bands as being on it, though. :-/

The bands match perfectly to Tmobile USA. Negri gave me some answer about it not being legal to sell unlocked phones because of new law???
    What new law?

No way is it for Tmobile Germany

    From Tmobile Germany:

    Frequenzbnder GSM (850, 900, 1800, 1900 MHz)
    WCDMA (850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz)
    LTE (800, 900, 1800, 2100, 2600 MHz)

    From Negri:
    2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900

    3G Network WCDMA 850 / 900 / 1700 / 1900 / 2100

Right, I'm aware of the band differences and the fact that Negri lists the bottom ones alongside the "T-Mobile" Lumia 925. The question is whether or not they got the bands right. They might have made an error if it isn't the US version is my point.

But I have to ask - do you have this 925 that Negri is selling? Are you using it on T-Mobile US?

That sounds like a lot of B.S. to me. If it were illegal to unlock a phone, then why do carriers give out unlock codes to customers?

I am looking to buy one, and $449 is a great price.

Has anyone asked which variant of the L925 Negri is selling? There are three versions RM-892 (international version), RM-893 (T-Mobile USA, ATT), and RM-910, which appears to be a Chinese (non-LTE capable) version although it lists AWS 1700 as a supported band.

I've not asked that question. I am going to assume that the v2 is not any of the prior known versions.

sorry guys, no code for us.

they said the company is based in vegas, and the phones are located at a warehouse in florida.

since they cannot physically inspect a device, they cannot supply me with a product code.

looks like we have to wait for someone to take the plunge and post up the code for us :(

The one I'd worry about is the "T-Mobile" 925 since Negri's rep Ted indeed told me it's the German version. It seems like this 925.2 one would work like a charm on T-Mobile here in the US.

yea, I really like the idea of getting one of the 925.2 versions. No exterior branding, and from what I am getting as the implication, one can potentially flash it with a different version of the OS. So, if I found that I really missed having the wireless calling, I could flash the phone with the T-Mobile firmware for the 925. Not that I know how to do that at this point...

Now if only they came out with a 32gb version, then I would be super happy.....

i told them the guys over at the wpcentral forum would very much appreciate the product code info.

they asked me how to locate it

perhaps they'll just have someone at the warehouse take a look. fingers crossed

Which 925 is that firmware from? The 925.2 or the one deemed as T-Mobile that I was told was the German one?

I've not done any real flashing of different forms of the OS, only a cab update of 7.8 for my HTC HD7. So if you would please tell me what you think the ramifications are of what you've done and in simple terms what that means. To my understanding you wanted the model number so that you could verify that you had the right version of the OS and flash it to what I assume is your US T-Mobile version of the 925, yes? Given you could not get 4G with that version, why do you think that's true? Do you think that v2 has a different 4g radio or something like that??

I wanted the product code so i could pull the firmware directly from nokia via care suite

059T883 gives us RM-893 VAR LTA MV WHITE

if the information originally posted is correct in that this device has both 1700 and 2100 for LTE, flashing t-mobile US devices with this software should have worked fine.

I honestly have no theory as to why it can't connect to 4g on tmobile other than the initial information being inaccurate.

Yes, you did what I thought you did. But I'd like for you to make really explicit what you mean by "the initial information being inaccurate." Are you thinking that the v2 would not work on T-Mobile here in the states, is that the "initial information" you are talking about??

If so we need to find out if anyone has already bought v2 for use on T-Mobile here in the states and if it has worked for them or not.

Yes, that is the initial info I'm referring to, but I don't want to make any definitive statements until someone else can corroborate my findings.

Maybe a silly question ... When you installed the 059T883 on your L925, did you check the APN settings? Would a wrong APN setting be preventing your phone from getting LTE? I'm on ATT and i know that "wap.cingular" APN is blocking LTE ... Could you follow up on this?
