<Rookie questions on>

I see the 925 is a supported ATT phone. If one buys a 925 from Newegg (or where ever) can they or do they work on ATT's network? Are some features missing? Does ATT alter their 925s to make them unique? Can this 925 be altered in the same way? Does "unlocking" open all the doors of these devices?

And finally...

Can one take this Newegg 925 to an ATT store and have it added to, for example, their family plan?

No, this phone is not unlocked. You would have to use it on T-Mobile for 40 days and then they would unlock it for you. It should run fine on AT&T if it's unlocked.

Its a great phone and that is a great price. No doubt in my mind that we are seeing a market dump of the 925. Clearing out the inventory for the 930 or the device that replaces the 925. Considering that T-mobile was still asking $504.00 last time i checked, $225.00 is a steal!

I think its just one party who is massively overstocked and is dumping them. Its only the T-Mobile 925s from Simply Wireless (sold by HSN and Newegg) that have had these low prices.

I see the buyer limit is now 2 per customer from 3.

Showed the Newegg price to me neighbor after showing him my 925.
He's probably ordering one right now LOL.

Update:

My neighbor\friend ended up ordering the phone.
He will be coming from AT&T to T-Mobiles 30 buck new subscriber plan.

One more upgrader.

Now to search the streets for more victims

I got the phone yesterday and manufactured date time is 7/16/2013. I browsed thru the forum and looks like phone from newegg/hsn/qvc has the same build date. Is this batch of phones has issues? I have not opened it, need to make sure no defects first. Please help.
Thanks,

Thanks,
You got one of the old ones. Mine is a young 7/19. ;)

I've been using it for over a week. No problems with mine.

After reading through this thread, has anyone been able to confirm if these phones are new or refurbished? Also, is the 1 year warranty from the date of purchase or date of manufacture?

Mine (and everyone else who has commented) was new in sealed manufacturer box. The warranty starts when phone is used.
