I'm not surprised it finally hit the $200 mark. I got it late last month from Newegg for $250. Really glad I didn't shell out $504+ to T-Mobile to get it.

I said this in another thread, but I see this insanely low price drop as a good thing. It might push the 925 into similar popularity that the 521 has seen. As a result, T-Mobile will probably get newer WP devices.

Read description on the HSN.com. It says expandable!! How dumb.

I agree. I purchased one for 250 but with tax and shipping it was 277. I returned the unit. I'm going to see what is released in place of the 925.

Although I'm thinking of ordering the phone yet again as I can get 15% off on this $200 price. It's possible that I can grab this phone for $170.00 - Now that is really a good deal considering that less than 3 weeks ago I paid 277 with tax and shipping.

Yeah, I saw discrepancies with the description of the 521, too. If memory serves me, it was also on HSN.com.

FYI, someone posted in the news article that Newegg Flash also has it for $200 but with no tax and free shipping for most people. Same exact phones since Newegg and HSN 925s all seem to come from the same Simply Wireless warehouse.

And FWIW the HSN product picture shows a 12 volt car charger (anyone use those anymore with USB being the norm now?) while the Newegg phones don't come with a 12 volt. If anyone orders from HSN, they might want to confirm the charger if they care, I'm thinking its not included since not anywhere in descriptions.

Newegg is showing the 925 by itself as not available.
However they still have a couple with little goofy plug in speaker for 259.

am interested in this deal but the one question is, how hard would T-Mobile make it unlock it as I don't intend to use in the US

Now I'm far from an expert on unlocking but if you don't intend to use it on a T-mobile network I would think that you can unlock form a third party.

They won't unlock it until its been used on T-mobile for x days. The last T-mobile phone I unlocked x was 40 days. So $60 for 2 months of unlimited text and data and 100 minutes talk would probably be the cheapest if you had 40 days to spare. I'm not sure if they would unlock as soon as the 2nd month is prepaid since thay already have over 40 days of money by then. I saw a company that sells unlock codes for over $100 so it can be unlocked anytime for the right price.

I actually just bought this on HSN for $200. It was $216 total with tax. It'll be my first Windows Phone, although, it won't be my main phone. I'm currently using a LG G2 with Android but wanted to check out WP to see how it compares with day to day use. I will also be unlocking it, either through a 3rd party or through T-Mobile, so I'll come back and report on how that goes.

I should have waited - but when is the end. I got mine for 229 last week with different packaging and call HSN, they will not refund the $20 dollars difference. It is still a good deal for me. I will unlock it after 40 days with T-Mobile, I want to get the windows 8.1 especially the VPN function if I am going to connect to my company. Windows phone is not certified in my company becuase of that. Since the phone is going so cheap I am afraid that T-Mobile may not push the 8.1, unless it is unlock and I can get it from Microsoft.

It looks like it only covers manufacturer mechanical or electrical breakdowns for two years so it doesn't cover if you drop it and crack the screen or drop it in the toilet. You're probably better off without it. I'm sure Nokia has a standard one year warranty for that kind of stuff (the mechanical or electrical breakdowns not toilet drops) anyway.

Square Trade has a two year protection plan for $99 but there's a $75 deductible for all claims. That probably isn't worth it either. I'm sure if you do happen to break it or crack the screen it would be cheaper in the long run to just pay to fix it yourself or buy another phone rather than go through the hassle of a warranty-type plan. It's up to you though.
