HI there. Two questions about this.

1. Has anyone heard about or received the 8.1 update for the AT&T variant?
2. Will the update show up if I'm on wifi without my SIM in if I do an update check or do I have to have the sim in for the update to show?

2) SIM presence won't matter - the update servers check the product code from the phone and its ROM, but yes it will show on wifi with or without your SIM in, on the proviso you aren't running 8.1 Preview for Developers. If you're unsure what that is then there's a good bet you aren't running it and can update normally when it's released.

No there doesn't appear to be anything for AT&T 925 yet.
I don't think a SIM is need as the phone itself is branded but I could be wrong.

Yeah I just decided to wait for the real deal and did not install the dev update. Thanks for the post.
